The PlayStation 3 introduced by Sony Computer Entertainment was launched in the US market in the year 2006 on November 11th. This version is the follow up to the PlayStation and PlayStation 2 and is exclusive in the way it has been designed. This version has its specific extra fittings, unique games and various networking and internet functions that are not seen on other video gaming consoles. The PlayStation 3 is said to be one of the finest gaming devices that have been in the market for a long time now.





The Sony PlayStation 3 has plenty of features that make it very attractive to people. It is not just a gaming console, bit also provides facilities for you to listen to music, utilize it with the PSP system, see movies and videos, and connect up with friends through the internet and so on.

It is very compact so it can be carried around at will and is a great amusement when you are traveling. And as it comes with wireless internet connectivity it makes it simpler to keep in touch with friend and family through a very easy PlayStation Network Account. After you have created your id you can have video or voice chats with people, send and receive instant messages and play a variety of games over the internet with players of your choice.

Another interesting feature of the PS3 is that it has a wireless controller that teaches you to make moves and sequences much more simply and makes gaming an enjoyable pastime. And the controller is so user friendly and adaptable that it sort of blends with the normal movements of the player.

Ever since its release in 2006, there have been various games that have been developed with the PS3 in mind. Games like the 'Uncharted 2: Among Thieves have received rave reviews from critics and been given the awarded for the best game of the year title by many gaming sites. Other best selling games are the 'Grand Theft Auto IV 'Final Fantasy XIII, 'Infamous', 'Killzone 2', 'Motor Storm', 'Gran Turismo 5 Prologue', 'Metal Gear Soild 4: Guns of Patriots', the list is endless.

The PS3 utilizes the Toshiba, Sony and IBM cell microprocessors and its Central processing Unit consists of up to 3.2 GHz Power and eight synergistic processing elements. Typically the PlayStation 3 has a 256 MB XDR DRAM with a 256 MB GDDR 3 video memory. The device is compatible with seven controllers that can be connected by means of the Bluetooth technology, and comes in five models depending on their hard disk drive configurations.
