Once I Finished Beating My Cancer I Night Sweats And Beat It As Well

By: Richard J Harington

Not so many years back I shocked to learn I had cancer; I was not happy to discover that I would have a hysterectomy at such a youthful age. Though I have two kids already, I prayed to have been able to maintain the choice for another if we so chose. It is a strange sensation to know that you can no longer have children mainly when it is not your choice.

In the early stages of my struggle I was placed into a regiment of treatments that required radiation and chemotherapy. The chemo Wasn’t too bad in the beginning but as time went on it was obvious it was altering my body. I know it can destroy cancer yet it felt like a battle to the end was happening inside my body and the result would either be me or the cancer. I have long thought there ought to be a better way to deal with fighting cancer. Maybe in the future the cure will be made accessible to us, but until then I can only dream that if there is a biological un-patentable treatment out there, the medical and drug industry will keep it under lock and key.

In time I was able consider myself cancer free and the feeling of release had covered me from top to toe. Except as rapidly as I had found this new relief I found a fresh crisis had taken its place.

Before cancer I had a reasonably typical sleep pattern. I would go to bed, awaken maybe one time for a restroom break and go back to bed to finish with a full night’s rest. But after the treatment and the surgery I found myself tossed into a new world of hysterectomy menopause.

Now with this menopause came its cousin, manpausal night sweats, and a whole string of other troubles. If I were to show you all of the interrelated issues included I might go on forever. The night sweats were enough. The sweats would keep me up all night also cause my husband to lose innumerable hours of rest as well. In the end it caused him to change to an alternative bed room. I had to get an solution. These night sweats were killing me and my marriage.

I tried a number of solutions to my dilemma and tried pretty much every natural and un-natural cure available. I tried frozen pillows, I tried absorbing nightshirt, I tried unusual sheets, you name it I tried it. I was about to give up when a colleague of mine gave me a thingamajig called a Bedfan. Now to be very truthful with you when she said it over the telephone I thought she said Bed Pan so I was a tad taken back as I could not guess for anything how a Bed Pan would help with night sweats.

Nonetheless, the Bedfan came to be the life saver I was trying to find. In order to explain how it works I will take a quote from one of the original users of the fan. One lady stated it was like cooling off under a waterfall and not getting wet at all. That is exactly how it felt. From that first night on I by no means had night sweats again. Now don’t get the wrong impression I could sense my body getting hotter and simply from routine for a while I expected to start sweating, yet it in no way happened.

Actually the way this contraption works is, when your body gets hot, your bed is not able to get rid of that heat immediate enough. By way of the Bedfan the hot air is carried out of the bed, never giving it a opportunity to build up to sweating. Here is how it feels; the next time you are relaxing in bed and you start to feel hot, merely raise up your legs to raise the sheets up high. Afterward gradually let your legs downward and feel that puff of air float across your body to cool it down. That is how it feels all night long.

Eventually I find myself sad that I can no longer create children but at least I am still alive. Not only am I still alive but thankfulness to the Bedfan, I am able to sleep once again and get the relaxation I require so that I can still have quality time with the beautiful kids I do have. I trust this helps others as much as it has me and my spouse.
