3 Easy Ways To Learn French Before Traveling
By: Adrian Fletcher.
If you are going to be traveling somewhere where French is the 1st spoken language, then it is smart to understand a bit of French in advance. This means taking some time to learn the language. And believe me, it does take a bit of your time to become fluent. If you do not have this time what solutions are open to you ? What's the easiest way to master French prior to visiting ?
Lets set some guidelines. If you happen to be traveling to France next week or French speaking Canada in a couple of weeks, it's important to learn the language right away. Given that you will probably have tonnes of other things to be sorting out through this time, the chances are that you may not have too much time to learn the language.
In this instance you need to pick up a few vital phrases and acquire a general idea for some of the words you will require. You also fancy a fairly accommodating method to do this (in other words, fit the lessons around all the other stuff you are doing).
In this case I'd advise a CD or Mp3 audio course is how to go. You can use this course whenever you have got a spare instant. You could even listen to it in the airport as you're waiting to embark the aircraft. Subsequently you may listen to it on the jet rather than getting drunk or watching that uninteresting in flight movie.
If this sounds like you, then a CD or Mp3 course that I'd propose is the Michel Thomas course. It's excellent and you'll get self-confidence from it. It is possible to speak some pretty decent sentences after taking note of Michel Thomas and he even explains the language so that you can make up your own sentences. It's a good and easy way to understand some simple French if you happen to be in a rush.
If you are going to France in the following few weeks and have a window to really focus on the language then I'd recommend an intensive class. For instance, why don't you visit France a week earlier and take an intensive immersion class inside a French language school. After this you can use the rest of your time in France honing what you've learned.
For anyone who is planning to be in France in a few months then you have a few more possibilities. In 3 months you can get to a good level in French using a software program or a mix software/audio program to learn the language. For me the very best programs with this approach are Rocket French and Rosetta Stone.
