7 Basic Steps To Write An Essay

The basic steps involved on how to write an essay:





1. Research needs to be conducted before you begin your writing process. Conduct a research on the topic that you would like to write. Gather the knowledge so that you are familiar with the format. This can be done by utilizing the internet and libraries.

2. Then you proceed to analysis. Analyze the arguments that you have read. Define the statements or claims, figuring out the reasons as well as the evidence. Determine the strengths and weaknesses of that particular logic. This is how you learn to write, by analyzing others’ written essays.

3. Next, you will need to identify your thesis statement. Select the best idea and state it down clearly. This thesis will be your main point. It is somewhat impossible for you to write a good essay without stating your thesis clearly.

4. Outline your essay before you start writing it. Use bullet points or one line sentences to describe what each and every paragraph should contain. Order the points. As for the structure, map out your argument and make sure that your arguments are rational.

5. You can finally start writing once you have got the steps above done. Keep in mind that your introduction must be able to attract your readers. Discuss about the issue and then lead them in to your theses. Your introduction is merely a short description of the issue that you would like to discuss.

6. Your paragraphing should be done systematically. Each paragraph should only focus on one single idea that supports the thesis that you have stated earlier. Your paragraph should include topic sentences, supporting arguments and evidence and explain your idea as clearly as possible.

7. Then it comes to conclusion. The ending of your essay should be interesting or one that could leave a huge impact on the readers. You may end your conclusion with a quotation or an interesting logic.
